Transactors: where the virtual world meets the implementation world

The general topic is to focus on verification of SoC, where you have one part described at a high level of abstraction (the virtual world, untimed) and on the other the cycle accurate part (obviously timed and in RTL). The main topic is how these two worlds communicate with each other, using transaction based communication technology.

| Heiko Mauersberger joined Synopsys in 2008 and is currently Director R&D within the Hardware Assisted Verification Group of the Synplicity Business Unit. He is responsible for the development of the Confirma software products and the CHIPit hardware platforms. Before coming to Synopsys, Mr Mauersberger was CTO of ProDesign Electronic GmbH, Germany. Within ProDesign the CHIPit product line was developed. He holds an MSEE, the Dipl.-Ing. der Elektrotechnik, from the Technical University of Chemnitz.

| Dr. Luc Burgun is President and CEO of EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, and President of the supervisory board of Cofluent, a leader in ESL specification. Co-founder of EVE, Luc has about 20 years of experience in EDA, where he held engineering and executive positions. Prior to founding EVE, Luc Burgun headed the R&D team of Meta Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mentor Graphics, specialized in hardware emulation systems. He has published numerous articles at international technical conferences and has been granted six patents on accelerated verification. Luc Burgun holds a Ph.D degree in Logic Synthesis from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, France. | ||

Tim Kogel CoWare |

| Tim Kogel received his PhD degree in electrical engineering with honors from Aachen University of Technology (RWTH), Aachen, Germany, 2005. He has authored a book and numerous technical and scientific publications on ESL design. Today, he is working as a principal solution specialist in the office of the CTO at CoWare Inc. In this position, he is responsible for the product definition and future direction of CoWare's SystemC-based Platform Architect product line. | ||
