Impact of evolving MIPI standards on future mobile platforms
By Ajay Jain, Director of Product Marketing, Arasan
As a mobile platform industry alliance, MIPI has progressed far beyond its camera and display interface roots. This presentation covers how new mobile industry standards drive performance, low power, cost reduction and design reuse across standardized interfaces to mobile applications processors, baseband chips, RF ICís and peripherals. The adoption status of many of these standards, which will appear in mobile platforms of 2012-2014, will be covered. The audience will appreciate how inter-chip connectivity standards have played a vital role in complementing the vast capabilities of processor cores, SoC interconnects and memory in the relentless evolution of mobile platforms, like smartphones and tablets.
