Highland Communications Technologies licenses 2.5 Gbps GPON FEC core to Iamba Networks
FORT ERIE, CANADA - June 5, 2006: Iamba Networks of Israel (www.iamba.com) licensed a 2.5 Gbps GPON FEC core from Highland Communications Technologies. This is the world's first comercially deployed GPON FEC core. With the heat up of the GPON market, equipment vendors are competing for high performance and time to market. Forward error correctoin (FEC) is the most cost effective means to meet this goal. Highland Communications Technologies already has a customer in the US military industry. With the addition of a commercial customer in the mass production market, the company garnered great credibility in the semiconductor IP business.
