MOSAID Announces Three Senior Appointments
OTTAWA, Ontario – May 15, 2007 - MOSAID Technologies Inc. (TSX:MSD), a leading intellectual property company, today continued to build its management team with the announcement of three senior appointments.
Phillip S. Shaer joins MOSAID's senior executive management team as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In his new position, Mr. Shaer will be responsible for the Company's legal strategy, as well as disclosure and corporate governance obligations. Mr. Shaer, who was recently named Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary, has played an increasingly important management role since joining MOSAID as Corporate Counsel in 2004 from the law firm of McCarthy Tétrault. Mr. Shaer obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Windsor and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Université Laval.
Michael B. Vladescu, formerly Vice President, Patents, is appointed Vice President, Licensing and Intellectual Property. Mr. Vladescu's appointment reflects his significant contributions to MOSAID's patent licensing success and its new focus on intellectual property licensing. In his new role, Mr. Vladescu will be responsible for the Company's patent licensing, prosecution and acquisition activities. Mr. Vladescu joined MOSAID in 1996 with previous experience in the field of design analysis. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and an Executive MBA from Queen's University.
Jin-Ki Kim, previously MOSAID's Director of Technology Research and Development, is appointed Vice President, Research and Development. Mr. Kim joined MOSAID in 1997 following 12 years with Samsung Electronics. A prolific and respected inventor, Mr. Kim holds 23 patents issued for his innovative work in NAND Flash memory, and more than 30 patent applications related to his work on MOSAID's recently introduced HyperLink NAND (HLNAND™) memory architecture. Mr. Kim has a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from the University of Yonsei, Seoul, Korea.
