Arasan expands Analog capability through Acquisition
San Jose, California -- June 9, 2009 -- Arasan Chip Systems, Inc. (“Arasan”), a leading provider of Intellectual Property (IP) Cores, announced the expansion of its Total IP Solutions capability with the acquisition of AFTEK’s Bangalore based Analog Division. This acquisition broadens Arasan’s IP portfolio enabling Arasan to serve a wider range of complex SoC designs.
New applications demand increasing integration of higher bandwidth and functionality which forces the use of mixed-signal IP in SoC designs. SoC designers can greatly reduce their implementation risk by using Arasan’s pre-verified combination of digital and analog IP. Arasan is now part of a select few IP providers that offer a truly complete IP solution that encompasses software stacks, verification environments, digital IP and now a complete suite of analog IP.
AFTEK’s Bangalore Analog Division has an impressive track record of multiple SoC tapeouts to its credit. Combined with Arasan’s history of analog IP development, being among the first to offer a MIPI D-PHY IP core, this acquisition strengthens Arasan’s expertise in both leading edge and mature process nodes across multiple foundries. Adding Arasan’s unique silicon proven design and development process to this acquisition delivers a mixed-signal design methodology that ensures customers first silicon success. Arasan’s rigorous verification methodology also ensures the interoperability of our digital controller IP with any corresponding analog IP.
“With the addition of AFTEK’s Analog Division, Arasan’s IP portfolio can better support the most demanding Mixed-signal SoC designs in the market today”, said Ignatius Bezzam, Senior Director, Analog Mixed Signal Division, Arasan. “Our analog, digital and software teams are organized to address standards rather than being set up as independent teams. Having a unified team ensures tight integration and interoperability between all the IP components within a standard. Expertise and nuances gained at the system level are shared within the team and also passed onto our customers”.
Arasan continues to provide a “Total IP Solution” for its expanding portfolio that is backed by our commitment of world-class customer support.
