Gothenburg, Sweden - July 16, 2010 -- Aeroflex Gaisler AB, a leader in System on Chip (SoC) design, today announces the availability of a MIL-STD-1553B IP-core. The MIL-STD-1553B IP-core includes Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT) and Monitor (MT) and configures as either a BC/RT/MT or RT only. The MIL-STD-1553B is available for licensing either as a part of the GRLIB IP library or as a separate IP-core in VHDL source code.
"We are pleased with the addition of another IP-core to our IP- library. The MIL-STD- 1553B interface is widely used in aerospace and military applications; the addition of this core will complement our IP-library and further simplify the design effort for our customers. For optimum performance together with the LEON processor the MIL-STD-1553B connects as a master on the AMBA bus using DMA." said Per Danielsson, Managing Director of Aeroflex Gaisler.
The MIL-STD-1553B is available as a soft core together with a rich IP library (GRLIB) for instantiations into both FPGAs and ASICs. A software driver in source code for the LEON processor is provided to customers licensing the IP-core.
