The MHL Transmitter IP core supports video resolutions up to 1080p and all relevant audio formats up to 8 channel digital audio. High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), supported by Hollywood as the technology of choice for the secure distribution of premium digital content, is integrated in the IP core and allows consumers to share their user-generated and premium content securely in full HD quality on an HDTV. The built-in Remote Control Protocol (RCP) connection enables the user to operate multiple devices with one remote control.
The MHL standard defines a 5-pin interface that utilizes existing connections-saving valuable space on the mobile device and enabling consumers to get more functionality and features from a single connection. The MHL Transmitter IP core contains low-power, mixed signal technology to enable the transmission of HD video, audio, control and power between the HDTV and mobile device using a single, low pin count cable. The core includes digital logic, analog GDSII, models, software and documentation.
