NTSC/PAL/SECAM Adaptive 2D Comb Filter Video Decoder
The Zoran NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder core is an area-efficient, high image quality, cost-effective solution for digital video system-on-a-chip applications. Implemented in approximately 150,000 gates, the core decodes NTSC/PAL/SECAM composite or Y/C video and converts it into YUV 4:2:2 16-bit or CCIR-656 8-bit digital video. The core requires just two ADC's and two line buffers for full operation. The core accepts 8, 9, or 10-bit inputs from ADC's and includes a three-line adaptive comb filter for high quality video. The design is highly robust and locks reliably to weak signals. Asynchronous sampling and time base correction isolates incoming video jitter from the output clock.
