Online Comparison of Image Compression StandardsThis tool compresses and decompresses a user uploaded input image with various image compression standards as implemented by our IP cores. The Bit Accurate Models of the respective image compression cores are used to encode / decode a user supplied test image, in order to evaluate their actual performance and explore the advantage each has to offer. The reconstructed images after decompression are returned for visual examination, as well as the achieved compression ratio, the PSNR and the Structural Similarity (SSIM) metrics for comparison of the compression performance achieved by each image compression algorithm. Note that runtimes can be long for large input images.
