intoPIX has developed various TICO RDD35 architectures running a different pixel per clock to target a wide range of resolutions and a wide range of FPGA devices & ASIC technology nodes. 

TICO RDD35 is a revolutionary compression technology, extremely tiny in FPGAs & ASICs. It fits into the smallest Xilinx & Altera devices, robust for real-time operation with no latency. It offers a very low gate count & SRAM consumption in ASICs.

  • CBR (constant bit rate) operation (optional capped VBR mode) 
  • TICO profile 1 & 2 support 
  • SMPTE RDD35 compliant and beyond
  • Embedded x2 downscaler / proxy option in decoder
FPGA/ASIC implementation
  •  Low cost implementation in any FPGAs: very low FPGA logic and internal RAM usage 
    • Fit in the smallest Xilinx Spartan-6, Artix-7, Kintex-7 and Kintex Ultrascale 
    • Fit in the smallest Intlel Cyclone V, Arria V, Stratix V, Cylclone 10, Arria 10 
  • Low Gate Area (low gate count / low memory) for ASIC
  • Encoder and decoder have approximately the same complexity 
  • IP-core customizable per application, delivered within an HDK to speed up the integration
  • Various pixel per clock implementations
