Wi-Fi Alliance® applauds FCC action on 6 GHz spectrum

On 23 October, the Federal Communications Commission adopted the Unlicensed Use of the 6 GHz Band proposal

Wi-Fi Alliance® applauds the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) innovative proposal for a regulatory approach that addresses the growing need for Wi-Fi® spectrum capacity. In the past 20 years, the demand for Wi-Fi connectivity has increased manifold while unlicensed access to critically important mid-band spectrum has remained relatively unchanged. With today’s action, the FCC took an important step towards preserving broadband wireless connectivity for millions of Americans and creating new opportunities for the next generation of Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi Alliance looks forward to contributing to the Unlicensed Use of the 6 GHz Band proceeding.
