Mythic strapped for cash

illion in venture capital, it looks as if Mythic, the analogue processor pioneer, has run out of cash,

Mythic “ran out of runway with the investors before we could get to revenue,” wrote Mythic’s vp engineering Ty Garibay on LinkedIn earlier this week. Garibay said  he’s looking for a job.

Mythic’s processor was pitched as the best approach to edge computing in terms of performance-per-watt and performance-per-dollar.

Its MP10304 PCIe card, containing four M1076 Mythic AMP processors, claimed to deliver up to 100 trillion operations per second of AI performance using less than 25W.

In September it showed its chips could run the YOLOv5 object detection algorithm on high-resolution video at 60 frames per second while only consuming 3.5W.
