Embedded Software is Everywhere
By Colin Walls (Mentor Graphics)
Electronic devices are everywhere and impinge on the lives of 21st Century citizens all day, every day. The technology behind modern electronics is incredibly complex and fast moving, but, ultimately, the functionality of all these devices relies on software - embedded software. In this keynote talk, the scope of embedded software is considered in detail by deconstructing a typical embedded device and looking at how each aspect of its functionality is implemented.
Colin Walls has over twenty-five years experience in the electronics industry, largely dedicated to embedded software. A frequent presenter at conferences and seminars and author of numerous technical articles and two books on embedded software, Colin is an embedded software technologist with the Mentor Graphics Embedded Software Division, and is based in the UK.
