Chris N Brown was appointed to the SST Licensing group as Senior Manager – IP & Technology Licensing in 2010 following the acquisition of SST by Microchip earlier that year. His responsibilities include supporting and developing the Superflash ecosystem in Europe and South America with a particular emphasis on smartcard and contactless applications. In this capacity, he has been responsible for bringing new Foundry partners on board, new design partners as well as new IDM engagements.
Prior to his present role, Chris spent 10 years with Intel in a variety of roles, including flash memory development. Subsequently, Chris was one of the Emosyn founders – the first company to use flash memory in smartcard devices – and stayed with the company following its acquisition by SST in 2005. He holds a B.S. degree in elec engineering from Liverpool University.
Mr. Brown is active professionally in various European industry groups related to IP and Memory technologies and is also involved with the Microchip M&A team in evaluating potential new technology acquisitions
