From its infancy 20 years ago, the semiconductor IP industry has evolved into the major driving force of today’s semiconductor landscape. This talk will take a historical view of the changes in the industry over the past twenty years, looking at how the landscape (environment) has changed and how individual companies either adapted or simply went away. What will the IP industry and players in the future look like?
Biography:
Mike Kaskowitz has over 30 years of technology and senior management experience in the embedded software and intellectual property (IP) industries. He is currently a Managing Director with Infinitedge, a company he help found to provide advisory and growth services in the semiconductor industry. Previously, Mike was the Senior Vice President of Semiconductor IP for MOSAID, President of the VSI Alliance, the leading Semiconductor IP standards body, and General Manager of the IP and Embedded Software divisions of Mentor Graphics. Mike also served as Vice President of Engineering at Cadence Design Systems, and Compression Labs, as well as Director of IP for VLSI Technology, where he was involved in the early days of ARM Ltd. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
