SAN JOSE, Calif.--July 13, 2005--Arasan Chip Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Reusable Intellectual Property (IP) products, released the SDIO Device Controller IP compliant to the Ver 1.20 SDIO Specifications. The new IP supports 50 MHz giving it a maximum throughput of 200Mbps in SD-4 bit mode. It also supports extended voltage range of 1.8V which makes it suitable for Cellular/Smart phone applications. The SDIO Device IP is available with AHB, APB and a 8/16-bit GPIO interface. In addition to the IP, Arasan provides complete SDIO solutions including Hardware Development Kits, Sample Drivers for Win CE and Palm OS, SDIO Linux Stack and Production testers.

This IP has already been delivered as an upgrade to all existing customers covered under the maintenance agreement and will be issued as the standard product to new licensees. Arasan is also launching its AC2600 SDIO Combo ASSP, which is SDIO Ver 1.20 Specification compliant in August 2005.

The SDIO Device IP from Arasan is Silicon Proven and has been licensed to semiconductor majors like Intel, Broadcom, Philips, Motorola, etc.
