Arasan Chip Systems Appoints Kevin Walsh Vice President of Marketing and Business DevelopmentSAN JOSE, Calif. -- Nov. 20, 2006 -- Arasan Chip Systems, a leading supplier of reusable Intellectual Property (IP) cores, semiconductors and design services, announced today that Kevin Walsh has joined the company as its vice president of marketing and business development. Mr. Walsh brings more than 15 years of executive marketing and management experience in semiconductor IP and software marketing to Arasan. He will drive the company's product marketing, business development, market communications and partner programs. ``Kevin has an excellent track record in the semiconductor IP, applications software, and services,'' said Arasan Ganesan, chief executive officer for Arasan. ``He joins our team as we begin our second decade and start to execute on our new vision for the continuation of our rapid growth.'' ``It is exciting to join the team at Arasan as it re-positions to service a rapidly evolving systems-chip market,'' said Walsh. ``They have developed compelling products in specific niches to address problems faced by electronic system designers worldwide, and the company has the customer-first attitude key for accelerated growth in the coming years.'' Mr. Walsh most recently served as director of marketing for Synopsys' IP group. He was previously vice president of marketing for inSilicon, Inc., a public company acquired by Synopsys in 2002. Additionally, Mr. Walsh was the executive vice president of Sapphire Design, now part of Sequence Design, and vice president of marketing for Simplex Solutions, now part of Cadence. His previous positions provide a depth of experience in new product development in emerging markets. He has successfully launched and managed many products that are leaders in their segments. Walsh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He also has a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He also brings to Arasan extensive experience in early market development, strategic planning, partnerships, field sales support and hands-on product management.
