NFC Tagging On Smartphones

Non-volatile memory (NVM) is one of the interesting product lines I manage. It is not in the mainstream of the other products that I manage like DDR, USB, PCI Express and HDMI where most customers I meet have heard of them. NVM is interesting because: 1) customers can put some programmability on their chips without the need of additional masks; 2) new use models are emerging such as “near field communications” also known as NFC.

BusinessWeek did a feature on how NFC tags are going to enhance smartphones by allowing people to use small stickers to customize features and tasks with their smartphone.
