Silicon Image Appoints Tech Veteran Masood Jabbar to Board Of Directors
SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 18, 2005-Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMGE), a leader in multi-gigabit semiconductor solutions for the secure transmission and storage of rich digital media, today announced the appointment of Masood Jabbar to the company's board of directors. With a technology career spanning more than 30 years, Jabbar has held a variety of management positions with public companies and currently serves on the board of directors for Openwave Systems Inc. and Picsel Technologies. His management career is anchored by 16 years at Sun Microsystems, where he held various executive positions, most recently as executive vice president of Sun's global sales operations.
Immediately prior to heading up Sun's global sales organization, Jabbar served as president and earlier as chief financial officer of Sun Microsystems Computer Company, the business unit responsible for the development and delivery of desktop and server computing systems. While serving as CFO for this unit, Jabbar led its technology and business acquisitions activities and was responsible for business development and strategic alliances. Earlier he served as general manager for Sun's Interactive Products Group, vice president of finance and planning for the worldwide field organization and director of marketing for the U.S. field operations. Prior to joining Sun, he spent ten years at Xerox Corporation and three years at IBM in various finance and planning roles.

Jabbar holds master's degrees in business administration and international management from the American Graduate School of International Management. He has a bachelor's degree in economics and statistics from the University of Panjab in Pakistan.
