VOCAL, Ltd. Teams with SOC Technology GmbH & Co. KG for Production of VoIP Speaker Phone
BOSTON--Sept. 19, 2005--Fall 2005 VON, (Booth #135) -- VOCAL Technologies Ltd., a leading provider of telecommunications and networking solutions, announced today that SOC Technology GmbH & Co. KG, a German manufacturer of ASIC and System-on-Chip Designs, has adopted VOCAL's new VoIP Speaker Phone Reference design for production slated to begin this autumn.
"We are excited to release our customers line of user-friendly VoIP Speaker phones," said Martin Damrau, CEO of SOC Technology. "The technology designed together with VOCAL will allow us to provide our customers with quality VoIP products for use in their day-to-day operations."
The reference design released by VOCAL Technologies, Ltd. outlines the production of an office telephone that is able to take advantage of the low costs of Internet telephony services. The telephone design includes a modern handset, LCD display, a 10 Mbps Ethernet port, display driver, and an FXS port to provide BORSCHT (Battery, Overvoltage, Ringing, Signalling, Coding, Hybrid, and Testing) functions to external telephones or facsimile machines.
"Our Speaker Phone Reference design is aimed to provide quality Internet telephony service for all types of business and consumer uses," said Victor Demjanenko PhD., CEO of VOCAL Technologies. "SOC Technology's success in the design and production of single chip solutions demonstrates their commitment to providing their customers with reliable and easy to manufacture products.
VOCAL's Speaker Phone Reference Design has been customized to include a specific board layout that will fit the particular IP phone enclosure, as well as a streamlined Analog Terminal Adaptor (ATA) that uses Legerity, Inc.'s voice interface solution in order to provide the best VoIP performance at the lowest cost. The speaker phone design contains features (invented and in progress to be patented by SOC Technology and its customer) for easy setup and configuration as well as the QuadTrue(TM) Function for multiple SIP accounts.
