Significant Power Management Patent Granted to O2Micro(R)
This patent describes an IC design concept called "Constant Ripple Current" technology that brings the highest possible efficiency to portable electronic devices under light and heavy load conditions. This innovation reduces design time and enables cost-effective power supplies for today's microprocessor and peripheral chips. Portable electronic devices include notebook computer, cell phone, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), PMP (Portable Media Player) and MP3 player applications.
Alex Hartular, vice president of O2Micro's Intelligent Power business unit, said, "This significant new technology enables highest efficiency, lower cost systems and forms the basis for all of O2Micro's DC/DC Controller product offerings."
