Ahmedabad, April 17, 2006: eInfochips, India’s fastest growing provider of electronic design services to global blue-chip technology companies, today announced the opening up of its third design centre in Ahmedabad. Set up with an investment of $1 million and spread over 15000 sq feet, the design centre will house 170 design engineers taking the total number of engineers at eInfochips to 480. eInfochips has executed over 150 complex chip design & verification and system design projects for customers across the globe.
On the occasion, eInfochips also announced that it will contribute 1% of its annual corporate profit for community initiatives and social causes. Today it announced a contribution of Rs 2.51 lac to Gujarat Government’s Kanya Kevalni Nidhi. The Company has been closely working with Visamo Kids and Sharda Trust.
“A center of excellence” for complex chip & SoC design and product design services for consumer multimedia applications is planned for the new Ahmedabad Center.
“Highly dynamic market demanding new products lines have forced OEMs/Product companies to reduce the product development cycle by outsourcing to companies. With our capabilities to address the entire product life cycle value chain we expect huge opportunities to open up. The Indian market for design services currently estimated at $ 3.2 billion is expected to grow to $ 15 billion by 2010.
eInfochips is gearing up to leverage this opportunity and grow at 80% year to year,” said Pratul Shroff, CEO, eInfochips.
eInfochips is targeting a revenue of $18 million in 2006-07 up from $10 million registered in 2005-06. eInfochips is also working on a $5 million expansion plan that includes corporate campus in Ahmedabad and Pune. eInfochips has recently added a second design centre at Pune with a state-of-the-art “embedded lab” for developing reference designs for Video Phone application and Video Surveillance.
“We have a two-pronged growth strategy. First is our entry into new markets in Asia-Pacific. Countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan are large centers of electronic manufacture and consumers of chip. We plan to tap these and win new customers. A beginning has already been made and we are about to kick-off operations in Japan with eInfochips KK. Secondly, to capture larger value from the entire spec-to-silicon-to-system value chain by offering our customers a full service bouquet of comprehensive electronic design services”, said Pratul Shroff
The new design centre at Ahmedabad takes the total number of design centers to 5 with over 480 engineers.
