Xilinx Releases ISE WebPACK 8.2i - FPGA Industry's Only Free Fully Featured Design Suite
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- July 17, 2006 -- Xilinx, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of the Integrated Software Environment (ISE(TM)) WebPACK(TM) 8.2i release -- the latest version of the company's free* downloadable programmable logic design suite. This new version includes all the features of the 8.2i release of the popular Xilinx ISE Foundation(TM) software with full support for optional embedded, digital signal processing (DSP) and real-time debug design flows. Most notably, ISE WebPACK 8.2i builds on the ISE Fmax Technology with the integration of the Xplorer utility enabling designers to easily explore multiple design rule settings and constraints to improve design performance by 10 percent. ISE WebPACK 8.2i provides support for all devices in the Spartan(TM)-3E family of FPGAs and select Virtex(TM)-4 FPGA devices.
FPGA Industry's Most Extensive Linux SupportISE WebPACK 8.2i also includes ISE Simulator Lite on Linux providing Xilinx users with a free HDL simulator. By providing support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4, Xilinx has combined the low-cost benefits of the ISE design environment with the fastest-growing EDA design platform. Linux is recognized as a stable, low-cost, high-performance alternative to other higher cost development environments and allows designers to maximize corporate resources. Xilinx now augments the industry's lowest-cost and lowest-power FPGA and CPLD solutions with the most extensive front-to-back Linux support of any major PLD vendor.
Award Winning Website Support
Included with the robust set of easy-to-use ISE WebPACK tools is access to the Xilinx support website (www.xilinx.com/support/mysupport.htm), rated one of the 2005 World's 10 Best Support Websites by the Association of Support Professionals. Designers can also access programmable systems training through Xilinx Education courses on FPGA design, DSP, embedded processing and high-speed connectivity.
