PLDA Joins PXI System Alliance (PXISA)
Move Strengthens Commitment to Producing Market-Leading PXI-based Boards
San Jose, Calif. -- October 10, 2006 -- PLDA today announced its membership in the PXI System Alliance (PXISA), which is responsible for promoting and maintaining the PXI standard.
“Alliance membership is a natural step for us as we expand our offerings of CompactPCI and CompactPCI Express production and system prototyping boards,” explains Arnaud Schleich, co-founder and vice president of Sales and Marketing for PLDA. “Membership guarantees that we stay abreast of PXI developments, which allows us to better serve our customers.”
The PXISA is responsible for promoting the PXI and PXI Express standards, ensuring interoperability among member products, and maintaining the PXI specification. PXI Express (based on the PCI Express protocol) is backward compatible with PXI and offers designers up to 2 GB/s dedicated per-slot bandwidth in addition to the industry's highest-performance timing and synchronization capabilities.
PLDA, in conjunction with National Instruments, unveiled the PXIe XpressLite CY2, the industry’s first CompactPCI Express FPGA-based Developer Kit (x1 lane add-in board) on August 8th during the 12th annual NIWeek worldwide virtual instrumentation conference and exhibition. The PXIe XpressLite CY2 is a complete and low-cost solution. The Dev Kit includes a free PCI-SIG® compliant PCIe IP controller, a free testbench, and features the Philips PX1012A-EL1 PHY. Additional deliverables include a Software Development Kit, a comprehensive simulation environment, complete technical documentation, and technical support provided directly by the design team.
