Xilinx Transforms IP Center On Web Into First Portal for FPGA Intellectual Property
SAN JOSE, Calif.----May 10, 2000--Xilinx, Inc (Nasdaq:XLNX) today announced an expansion of the company's IP Center that turns the Web site into the industry's first single on-line location where engineers can research, locate, request evaluation versions or access predefined modules of intellectual property for Xilinx(r) FPGAs.
In addition, the site also features a new search engine that provides an interactive view of all the IP modules available from Xilinx and its worldwide network of AllianceCORE(tm) partners. Designers can search for intellectual property by type, industry segment, functionality, FPGA family or keywords. Links on the site provide IP Center visitors direct access to IP data sheets or on-line forms to request evaluation versions of the IP. Links are also available to purchase IP from providers or connect to an E-commerce site.
Xilinx launched the IP Center last year as a site for design engineers to download the latest Xilinx LogiCORE(tm) solutions, contact AllianceCORE and XPERT(tm) partners and research industry trends.
``Our IP Center continues to evolve and is now the first comprehensive Internet portal that addresses all the IP needs of designers,'' said Babak Hedayati, director of marketing and business development for the IP Solutions Division at Xilinx. ``With access to complete solutions, designers can speed up product development and shorten their time to market.''
The IP Center is also a repository for information on the Xilinx Design Reuse Initiative, including the FPGA Reuse Field Guide from Xilinx and Qualis Design Corp, and the Xilinx IP Internet Capture tool, which provides designers with an automated method to identify, capture, and document a piece of IP.
A partnerships and services section of the IP Center provides details about the AllianceCORE program, a cooperative effort between Xilinx and independent third-party intellectual property developers. It is designed to produce a broad selection of industry-standard solutions targeted at Xilinx programmable logic devices. Xilinx takes a unique and active role with its partners to help turn their intellectual property into tested, predefined and high quality products that AllianceCORE partners sell and support. Another section covers the XPERTS program that qualifies, trains and supports consultants who offer customers around the world professional services for Xilinx devices, software, IP solutions, team-based design, and HDL and Verilog methodologies.
The Technology Solutions section of the IP Center links customers with LogiCORE solutions such as PCI and DSP modules that are developed sold and supported by Xilinx. The System Solutions section of the site brings together information on products, reference designs and IP that are designed to keep the system designers current on the latest trends, developments, and issues concerning industry segments such as communications, networking, video, image processing, digital modems, computing, and consumer home entertainment products.
Xilinx is the leading innovator of complete programmable logic solutions, including advanced integrated circuits, software design tools, predefined system functions delivered as cores, and unparalleled field engineering support. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in San Jose, California, Xilinx invented the field programmable gate array (FPGA) and fulfills more than half of the world demand for these devices today. Xilinx solutions enable customers to reduce significantly the time required to develop products for the computer, peripheral, telecommunications, networking, industrial control, instrumentation, high-reliability/military, and consumer markets.
