Bull Purchases Moore Microprocessor Patent Portfolio License
"We welcome Bull to our outstanding roster of MMP licensees," said Mike Davis, Senior Vice President, Licensing for Alliacense. He noted that licensing activity has increased in the past few weeks as TPL's success in the recent Markman ruling has become known.
On June 15, 2007, the US District Court in the Eastern District of Texas issued a Markman ruling that confirmed the strength and broad scope of the Moore Microprocessor Patent(TM) (MMP) Portfolio. Alliacense has established a highly successful licensing program in which royalty rates increase significantly over time as the number of licensees grows and uncertainties regarding the patented MMP technology are resolved.
About the MMP Portfolio
The Moore Microprocessor Patent Portfolio contains intellectual property that is jointly owned by the privately-held TPL Group and publicly-held Patriot Scientific Corporation (OTCBB:PTSC - News). The portfolio includes seven U.S. patents as well as their European and Japanese counterparts. It is becoming widely recognized that the jointly-owned patents protect fundamental technology used in designing microprocessors, microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSPs), embedded processors and system-on-chip (SoC) devices. The MMP Portfolio is exclusively managed by Alliacense, a TPL Group Enterprise.
