Kaben Wireless Silicon appoints Paul Slaby as Chairman
Ottawa, Ontario - August 30, 2007 -- Kaben Wireless Silicon Inc, one of the industry's leading wireless semiconductor design companies, announced today the appointment of Dr. C. Paul Slaby to its Board of Directors as Chairman.
The past six years, Kaben has been successfully providing leading edge RF and synthesizer design services while developing our proprietary Sampling IF Filter technology, said Thomas Riley, President and CEO of Kaben Wireless Silicon. He continued, KABEN is now transforming itself from a company that provided key building blocks for customers to integrate into their product, into a company that also uses these building blocks in concert with innovative architectures to deliver complete product designs. Attracting high-calibre individuals and influential people is fundamental to our plan of growing into the world's best wireless semiconductor design company. Paul's track record and experience in successfully building early-stage high-tech companies is a valuable resource for developing our corporate strategy.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr Slaby said that he was attracted to KABEN because of the company's reputation in the industry and among its customers. The company's technology, wireless design capability and the system architecture expertise are truly world's best. I am excited about this opportunity to help position it for further growth. With the new product focused business plan and proper capitalization we should be able to achieve amazing things.
As an accomplished high-tech executive and entrepreneur, Paul Slaby brings over 20 years of experience in starting, managing and growing technology companies. This includes his roles as founder and CEO of VoIPshield Systems and ATMOS Corporation, managing companies through organic growth and raising venture capital funding. He also started and managed an overseas semiconductor design center in Europe, MicroSemiX Ltd. He served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the National Research Council, as member of the Strategic Microelectronics Consortium and as an Advisor to Carleton University Foundry program. Prior to that Mr. Slaby held management positions in Bell Northern Research and Nortel.
