Silicon Wave Selects NurLogic IP for Bluetooth Development; NurLogic Develops Advanced Silicon-on-Insulator Libraries and Memories
SAN DIEGO, April 25 -- NurLogic Design, Inc., a leading supplier of foundation and mixed signal intellectual property (IP), today announces its selection by Silicon Wave, Inc. to supply IP products and design services for Silicon Wave's radio frequency (RF) systems-on-chip based on an advanced silicon-on-insulator (SOI) process. Silicon Wave's first product using this SOI process is its SiW015(TM) Radio Modem IC designed for Bluetooth(TM) wireless technology. A complete system-on-chip, the SiW015 Radio Modem IC contains a fully integrated radio, modem and synthesizer while maintaining the small size and low power performance needed by consumer devices.
``Developing IP for Bluetooth applications that use silicon-on-insulator technology is a significant milestone,'' said Dave Lyon, Silicon Wave's CEO. ``NurLogic was successful in providing digital IP products against a very demanding schedule.''
The IP products provided by NurLogic under the agreement are standard cell digital libraries and memories based on two generations of SOI process technologies. The agreement also includes design services to enable an SOI design environment based on Cadence Design System tool flow.
``Serving the communications IC design community is a large percentage of our IP business. By expanding our CMOS offering with advanced technologies such as SOI and SiGe, NurLogic is enabling the next generation products in this industry,'' said Dave Matty, President of NurLogic Design. ``We are pleased that Silicon Wave has chosen our IP for their innovative RF products.''
