Northwest Logic Announces the Immediate Availability of x8 PCI Express 2.0 Solution For Xilinx Virtex-5 FXT FPGA Platform
Update: Rambus Completes Acquisition of Northwest Logic, Extending Leadership in Interface IP (Aug. 27, 2019 )
BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Nov 10, 2008 -- Northwest Logic announces the immediate availability of a high-performance, hardware-proven x8 PCI Express(R) 2.0 Solution for Xilinx's Virtex(R)-5 FXT FPGA platform. This solution combines Northwest Logic's full-featured x8 PCI Express 2.0 cores and software to provide a complete, pre-packaged x8 PCI Express 2.0 solution. The solution enables high-performance x8 PCI Express 2.0 designs to be quickly developed for Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs.
Northwest Logic's x8 PCI Express 2.0 Core and DMA Back-End Core support high-performance, on-demand, multi-DMA engine operation with 3,000 Mbytes/s Card-to-System and 2,600 Mbytes/s System-to-Card throughput on a Intel DX58SO platform. Northwest Logic's companion DMA Driver (Window or Linux) manages the DMA engine and associated descriptors. For a complete system design, Northwest Logic optionally provides its high-performance DDR3/DDR2/DDR SDRAM Controller Cores. For more information, contact Northwest Logic at info@nwlogic.com or visit www.nwlogic.com.
"Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs offer the first programmable logic platform to support 5Gbps x8 PCI Express 2.0 operation," said Alex Goldhammer, PCI Express Solution Marketing Manager at Xilinx. "The combination of Xilinx's ISE Design Suite, Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs and Northwest Logic's x8 PCI Express 2.0 Solution creates a robust development platform for PCI Express 2.0 designers."
