Forty CAST IP Cores Validated for Mentor Graphic's Precision FPGA Synthesis Tool
Woodcliff Lake, NJ, November 12, 2008 — Silicon Intellectual Property (IP) provider CAST, Inc. is working with Mentor Graphics® to ensure that users of the company’s FPGA synthesis design flow have a superior experience using CAST’s IP cores. Forty CASTcores have so far successfully undergone this evaluation and testing process, yielding excellent results using Mentor Graphics’ Precision® Synthesis FPGA tool.

The validated cores include 8051- and 68000-compatble processors; JPEG and JPEG 2000 image encoders/decoders; NAND Flash and SD Card memory controllers; PCI and PCI Express interfaces; USB interfaces; Ethernet MAC interfaces; CAN and LIN network controllers; a Smart Card Reader and Infrared Remote device controllers; I2S and SPDIF audio interfaces; synchronous UARTs; and more.
