Grenoble, France -- January 12, 2009 -- VaST, the leader in electronics virtualization, today named Christophe Guittard as the Vice President and General Manager of VaST in Europe.
Guittard joins VaST from Mentor Graphics, where he held the director of sales position in Europe for place & route technology, and brings more than 25 years experience in the semiconductor and electronics design automation industry.
Prior to Mentor Graphics, Guittard served as the European General Manager for Sierra Design Automation. Mr. Guittard also held various sales and marketing management roles at Cadence, Synopsys, Simplex, Epic and Valid. He began his career as a design engineer at Philips Semiconductor.
Mr. Guittard graduated from Ecole Centrale de Lille, France and holds an M.S. of semiconductors physics.
"Christophe's experience in the electronics industry and his contacts in Europe will make a significant contribution to our growth in that region," said Alain Labat, President and CEO for VaST.
"VaST's unique virtualization technology and products are the future of systems design, which is one of the European technology sectors strongholds," Guittard said. "I am looking forward to expanding VaST's position in Europe."
VaST drives electronics virtualization. VaST fundamentally changes the electronics industry by breaking the dependency on hardware prototypes. With VaST, electronics companies develop virtual system prototypes—timing-accurate, high-speed simulation models of their electronic systems—for use in design and supply chain enablement.
Using virtualization, customers develop software before hardware and enable early software development by ecosystem partners which cuts time-to-market by 8 months or more.
VaST’s customers include worldwide leaders in automotive, consumer, and wireless markets. VaST is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with sales and support offices worldwide. For more information, visit us at http://www.vastsystems.com
