Intelop announces 10 G bit Ethernet MAC + PCIe + AMBA 2.0 Core which Receives and Transmits 64 - 1518 Byte packets at full line rate and is customizable for implementing differentiated application features
Santa Clara, California -- Mar 9, 2009 -- Intelop Corporation, a leading high end IP developer, customization & electronic engineering design services provider, In an attempt to get out in front of emerging I/O standards for networking, Intelop Inc. has rolled out 10-Gbit Ethernet and PCIe products.
The Santa Clara, Calif. company said it has announced a 10-Gbit Ethernet media-access controller (MAC) core with 3.125 MHz PCIe core integrated with AMBA CPU controller. The higher level integration delivers much higher performance and the scalable architecture is ideal for enterprise design applications. It is intended to enable customers for faster system design/integration/test and delivery cycle. The offering is intended to push Intelop's high-end IPs for FPGAs/ASICs deeper into networking and server applications.
The 10-Gbit Ethernet MAC is being delivered for FPGA designs and for ASIC designs. A separate verification suite was developed by intelop for targeting this core to ASIC design flows as well.
The PCIe or AMBA interfaces can easily be removed for design applications that do not require them.
The interest in the 10-Gbit MAC is running high in both the LAN and WAN arenas, according to Intelop. Based on market research data, the company estimates the number of 10-Gbit Ethernet ports could surpass 1 G bit Ethernet MACs very soon.
“We utilized our expertise in designing highly successful and advanced technology Multi-Giga bit Enterprise-class IDS/IPS, Network Security appliances, switches and Server NICs employing SOCs/FPGAs also designed by intelop in defining the architecture of this MAC engine,” said K Masood. Intelop also integrated many of their IPs with other standard IPs in SOCs/FPGAs and developed necessary software as a total turn key solutions for their customers.
“We are excited about this new crown jewel and the ability to develop value-added networking silicon and total solutions for our customers.” said Kevin Moore of Intelop.
