Xilinx Virtex-II Pro World's Most Popular 130nm FPGA

Company reports record >40% growth in most recent quarter

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 3, 2005 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX), the world's leading programmable logic supplier, today announced that based on its most recent quarterly results, the Virtexâ„¢-II Pro family of FPGAs is now outselling any other 130nm FPGA in the industry. The company attributes the phenomenal 40 percent plus growth in Virtex-II Pro revenue to the broad adoption of the system level features provided by the family, such as integrated IBM PowerPCâ„¢ processor cores and multi gigabit serial transceivers. Introduced in 2002, the Xilinx Virtex-II Pro family is outselling any other 130nm FPGA in the industry. The company has also shipped more than 7X the number of Platform FPGAs with embedded hard processors or multi-gigabit serial transceivers than any other PLD vendor.

"Integrating sophisticated system level features into an FPGA was absolutely the right strategy. Integration shifted the usage model for programmable technology from logic to systems, allowing system designers to leverage the advantages of programmability at the architectural level," said Sandeep Vij, vice president of worldwide marketing at Xilinx. "Today, our long term strategic vision is paying off with the broad adoption we anticipated. We expect the momentum to continue as more of our customers go into volume production."
