Konstanz, Germany -- February 5, 2009 -- Today, Hyperstone introduced its high-performance E2 – 32-Bit RISC/DSP Microcontroller with additional on-chip highlights such as programmable serial communication engine, an analog to digital converter (ADC), and 32kBytes on chip (I-RAM) complemented by an external memory and peripheral interface controller. Maximum efficiency in terms of power consumption, gate count, and ease of programming, when utilizing RISC and DSP functionality, are inherent features of the unique Hyperstone RISC/DSP architecture.
Based on the Hyperstone E1-32XSR – RISC/DSP Processor Core Architecture, the E2 Microcontroller offers among others:
E2 is optimally used in industrial sensing and control applications but also in cost sensitive applications including metering and scanning or in consumer applications.
Additionally, Hyperstone offers a Development kit including board and software development tools such as an integrated development Environment (IDE), C/C++ compiler, linker, assembler, source-level debugger with profiler, runtime kernel, and DSP library.
â€The new Hyperstone E2 is based on the well proven E1 RISC/DSP core. It uses the same feature set but enriched by ADC and SIO functionality to allow easy integration into customer designs. With the additional features customers can reduce external components and optimize their board layout. First customers already benefit from these additions and were able to reduce the number of components on their boards. This development seamlessly continues the history of very efficient Hyperstone microcontrollers started with the first E1 in 1990 by Otto Müller.â€, said Steffen Allert, Vice President Sales and Field Application Support of Hyperstone.
The E2 RISC/DSP Microcontroller is currently available in different options:
