OPENEDGES Technology Expands ISO 26262 ASIL-B Certification to Network-on-Chip IP

Sept. 03, 2025, Sept. 03, 2025 –

Seoul, South Korea — OPENEDGES Technology, Inc. (OPENEDGES), a leading provider of memory subsystem intellectual property (IP), today announced that its Network-on-Chip (NoC) IP has been awarded ISO 26262 ASIL-B certification, the global standard for automotive functional safety.

This achievement builds on the company’s prior certifications for its Memory Controller and DDR PHY IP, making OPENEDGES the first Korean semiconductor IP company to obtain ISO 26262 certifications across the full range of automotive memory subsystem IPs. The certification was granted based on an accredited assessment by DNV, a global certification body headquartered in Norway, and validates that OPENEDGES’s NoC IP can safely manage complex data flows and processing within automotive systems.

NoC IP is the backbone of automotive semiconductors, enabling high-speed, high-bandwidth data transmission in applications such as infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and autonomous driving. This certification demonstrates that OPENEDGES meets the stringent safety standards required by the global automotive industry.

Sean Lee, CEO of OPENEDGES, stated, “The ISO 26262 ASIL-B certification of our NoC IP officially confirms that OPENEDGES possesses an IP portfolio with the highest levels of safety and reliability demanded by the global automotive semiconductor design market. Moving forward, we will continue to deliver innovative and highly dependable semiconductor IP solutions, further strengthening our competitiveness and position in the global automotive market.”

With this certification, OPENEDGES has established a comprehensive safety-certified IP portfolio for memory subsystems, positioning the company to actively address the growing demand for automotive semiconductor IPs among global fabless companies.

Looking ahead, OPENEDGES plans to expand its ISO 26262 certification coverage to chiplet interface IPs, including UCIe Controller and PHY, thereby offering even more robust automotive IP solutions in the future.
