Chips&Media will supply its Advanced Professional Video (APV) intellectual property (IP) to Google for the first time, marking the company's entry into Google's smartphone ecosystem. The IP is expected to be incorporated into Google devices scheduled for release in three to four years.
Chips&Media said on July 2 that it had signed a licensing agreement for its APV IP, WAVE-P, with a North American Big Tech company identified only as "Company G." Industry sources confirmed the customer is Google.
