As major foundry companies recorded a record high in revenue in the second quarter of this year, the market share gap between Taiwan's TSMC and Samsung Electronics continued to widen.
According to market research firm TrendForce, the combined revenue of the world's top 10 foundries in the second quarter of this year increased by 11.5 percent from the previous quarter to reach approximately 53.49 billion dollars, setting an all-time high.
Taiwan's TSMC reported second-quarter revenue of approximately 40.2 billion dollars, up 12.1 percent from the previous quarter.
