MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NasdaqGS: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard architectures, processors and analog IP for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications, announced it has named Art Swift as vice president of marketing, reporting to MIPS President and CEO John Bourgoin. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing and executive management for semiconductor and processor IP companies, Swift will lead marketing efforts for MIPS Technologies’ global IP business.

Swift has held a range of senior marketing and general management leadership roles including president and CEO of Unidym, Inc. and president, CEO and senior vice president of marketing at Transmeta Corporation, a provider of low-power microprocessors and IP. Prior to Transmeta, Swift was COO at embedded software provider Lynuxworks and vice president and general manager of several large divisions of chipmaker Cirrus Logic. He also held senior marketing, business development and engineering positions with Summit Microelectronics, Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment, Bipolar Integrated Technology, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Swift holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
