Vanguard Software Solutions Releases IP Cores for Panasonic AVC-Intra and H.264 CABAC; Transcoding Solutions for Video
LOS ALTOS, Calif. -- April 20, 2009 --Vanguard Software Solutions, Inc. (VSOFTS), an established video coding supplier, will showcase its latest H.264 technology at NAB 2009 trade show in Las Vegas, NV. Included are: support for Panasonic AVC-Intra and H.264 CABAC IP Cores for FPGA and custom ASICs; Real-Time AVC TRANSCODING required in Internet/Web Video Casting and H.264 SVC support required in video communications markets.
“The AVC-Intra format is fast gaining ground with broadcasters and major OEMs like Apple FinalCut Pro, Thomson Grass Valley and AVID amongst many others. VSOFTS is ready to assist by enabling HD cameras and content servers using FPGA or ASICs with AVC-Intra and CABAC IP Cores,” said President of VSOFTS, Irena Terterov. “Together with our H/W partners we are targeting ENG, mobile and terrestrial broadcast applications.”
VSOFTS IP Cores support 50 and 100Mbps, have a small foot print and require no external memory.
“We have witnessed the success of Web based VOD and Live Video sites, streaming high quality video to desktops, Blu-ray players and Set Top boxes,” said VP Marketing of VSOFTS, Felix Nemirovsky. “Much of the existing video content must be converted to an Internet appropriate format. To meet this market demand, VSOFTS is offering both professional transponders for Satellite/Cable operators and mid-range solutions able to encode real-time and stream to the internet directly in an appropriate resolutions and bit rates.”
VSOFTS TRANSCODERS input MPEG2 or H.264 high bitrate and transcode real-time to H.264 streams with bitrates from 500kbps to 2Mbps in SD and 2Mbps to 4Mbps in HD resolutions. VSOFTS Transcoders can be integrated in x86 based customer systems or deployed as stand-alone appliances, for specific markets and price points.
“H.264 SVC is fast becoming a requirement in video communication products and is likely to be adopted by broadcasters in the near future. VSOFTS is ready to provide SVC enabled solutions for x86 and many embedded systems,” said VSOFTS President, Irena Terterov.
