TranSwitch Chooses Kilopass as their 65nm OTP Provider
Update: Synopsys Expands DesignWare IP Portfolio with Acquisition of Kilopass Technology (Jan. 10, 2018)
Kilopass XPM is hacker proof for unique key storage, such as HDCP/DTCP key and IMEI/DRM for digital content protectionSanta Clara, California -- April 27, 2009 -- Kilopass Technology, a leading provider of semiconductor non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), announced today that TranSwitch Technology, a leading provider of carrier-class semiconductor solutions for the converging voice, data and video network, has chosen Kilopass’ 65nm OTP (One Time Programmable) solution to demonstrate it with TranSwitch’s HDMI IP cores. The OTP is used for HDCP key storage. Data protection is essential for the HDCP key, along with small die size, low integration cost, and reliability. Kilopass’ low-cost, highly secure XPM memory technology surpassed the competitions’ in meeting TranSwitch’s requirements. Kilopass’ 65nm XPM has completed and passed qualification in the TSMC IP9000 program.
“Data protection is important for HDCP keys. Kilopass XPM is embedded, and the technology provides the best protection against tampering comparing to other technologies,” said Amir Bar-Niv, Vice President of Systems and Applications at TranSwitch. “In addition, Kilopass XPM technology makes it possible for us to maintain the cost cutting curve as we migrate from 90nm to 65nm. We also recommend the Kilopass OTP to our customers.”
“We are pleased that TranSwitch has chosen us again for its 65nm video product. Kilopass is committed to develop good products for our customers and make sure our technology is aligned to customers’ needs,” said Kilopass President and CEO, Charlie Cheng. “We are delighted to be working with TranSwitch again and to contribute to its new product success.
Kilopass’ XPM technology is designed to be foundry independent. The technology is built using standard, commercially available CMOS logic process technologies. There are no design rule violations. XPM is fully scalable, making it available in leading edge process technologies as soon as they have become available from the foundry.
About XPM
Kilopass XPM is available in over 30 foundry processes. With this expansive offering and comprehensive qualification methodology, Kilopass enables SOC designers to integrate XPM from 180nm to 45nm with high reliability. Applications range from a few hundred bits for unique ID to prevent cloning, to multiple instances of 1Mb for program code storage. Over 60+ customers have integrated XPM in over 150+ designs. Many of the designs, up to 90nm, are ramping up to high-volume production or have been in high-volume production since 2003.
