Fujitsu Microelectronics Solutions Adopts EVE's ZeBu Emulation Platform to Develop Embedded Software Before Tapeout
San Jose, Calif. -- June 4, 2009 -- EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, today announced Fujitsu Microelectronics Solutions Limited (FMSL) of Tokyo, Japan, has selected its ZeBu (for Zero Bugs) hardware-assisted verification platform for hardware-software co-design.
FMSL will use ZeBu to start software development earlier, shortening the total system development time and optimizing partitioning between hardware and software.
“We ran an extensive evaluation of ZeBu over a three-month period using an MPEG-4 decoder, a custom LCD transactor and a JPEG encoder design,” says Takeshi Moro from FMSL’s Development Division of the Wireless & Mobile Solutions Department. “We were delighted to find that ZeBu operated at three frames per second (QVGA display) or one-tenth the speed of the SoC, making it possible to develop software before tapeout. FMSL intends to use ZeBu in actual chip design soon.”
“We are delighted to be chosen by Fujitsu Microelectronics Solutions and are appreciative of its diligence in conducting the evaluation,” remarks Hiroyuki Iseri, General Manager of Nihon EVE K.K. “We are confident that, by virtue of its fast execution, ZeBu will significantly accelerate the development of embedded software ahead of silicon availability, and ultimately speed time to market of FMSL’s new designs.”
