Movidia Licenses Arasan's SD/SDIO IP Core for Next-Generation Multi-Media SoC
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- June 17, 2009 -- Arasan Chip Systems, Inc. (``Arasan''), a leading provider of Intellectual Property (IP) Cores, announced that Movidia, a fabless semiconductor company based in Dublin, Ireland, specializing in video editing technology for mobile phones, has licensed Arasan's Secure Digital SD/SDIO/MMC Host IP and SD/SDIO Combo Device IP for its next generation SoC.
Movidia's unique technology permits users to capture, edit and share multi-media content on a mobile phone. With the rapid adoption of mobile social networking, Movidia's technologies enable mobile phone OEMs to offer video editing features in products tailored for the next generation of mobile social networking applications.
Arasan's leadership in providing a complete portfolio of Secure Digital (SD) controller IP cores dates back to its early engagement with the SD Association and strong relationships with its founding members.
