Dolphin Integration launches Linear Regulators at 65 nm for Ultra Low-Noise
Meylan, France - October 26, 2009 -- Embedded power management is a growing challenge for SoC integrators wishing to optimize the workings and associated cost of their Systems-on-Chip. Dolphin Integration (“ALDOL” on NYSE-Alternext) continues its strategy with Inductorless converters and announces today the availability of its latest Low Drop Out Linear Regulator at 65 nm.
The company announces its LRO 1.8 ~ 3.6 / 1.25, a Linear Regulator supporting an input voltage ranging from 1.8 V to 3.6 V while delivering a regulated power supply of 1.25 V. This LRO exhibits an high noise resilience with a Power Supply Rejection Ratio – PSRR – up to 80 dB at 10 kHz together with an intrinsic noise as low as 50 μVrms in the 10 to 100 kHz bandwidth!
Such a performance thus enables to supply sensitive-to-noise analog circuitry, such as RF circuits or even output stages of logic audio converters, appropriately as this LRO also stars a very fast transient response with 5 μs.
"The short load transient response of LRO 1.8 ~ 3.6 / 1.25 ensures a top-in-class regulation even with large load variations which makes it perfect for most kind of noise sensitive blocks", explains Hélène Colin, Product Line Manager.
Last but not least, this LRO 1.8 ~ 3.6 / 1.25 is proposed with a configuration in accordance with the output current to supply, thus ensuring the smallest silicon area. It has also been designed to be easily and safely migrated toward any other pure logic process.
