Wireless M-Bus evaluation kit targets IoT

Rohm has teamed up with Amiho Technology of Cambridge to develop an sub-GHz radio for wireless M-Bus.

BY Steven Bush, Electronics Weekly, Apr. 07, 2016 –

Called AE060, it has two nodes based around Amiho's 18 x 20mm AM060 868MHz Wireless M-Bus radio modem module, which have at their heart Rohm's Lapis ML7345 radio transceiver.

Amiho's Wireless M-Bus stack and drivers are pre-loaded. "In addition, with security a major concern for today's smart networks, it includes AES128 encrpytion with AES256 to follow," said Amiho.

There is a built-in packet engine to off-load the microcontroller.
