Nangate's Library Creator Platform for Digital Cell Library IP Development Adopted by ON Semiconductor
Integrated digital cell library creation and characterization solution from Nangate now exclusively deployed for cell library development at ON Semiconductor
SUNNYVALE, Calif.-- April 06, 2010 -- Nangate, the leading supplier of digital cell library development and design optimization solutions, today announced that ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq:ONNN) has successfully implemented the Nangate Library Creator Platform to improve the productivity and cost effectiveness of its digital cell library intellectual property (IP) development. ON Semiconductor is a premier supplier of high performance, energy efficient silicon solutions for green electronics with a network of manufacturing facilities, sales offices and design centers in key markets throughout North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific regions.
The Nangate Library Creator is the industry’s most versatile, fully integrated and easy-to-use solution for digital cell library creation and optimization for its ability to greatly improve productivity and throughput in building a wide range of digital cell library IP.
In deploying Nangate Library Creator, ON Semiconductor has been able to increase the effectiveness of its digital IP development teams by enabling them to build digital cell libraries which have enhanced performance beyond the capabilities of commercially available cell libraries. This has greatly assisted their capability to deliver high performance, energy efficient silicon solutions.
Nangate’s tool suite constitutes a revolutionary new class of EDA solutions that increases the efficiency of digital CMOS ICs to levels that were previously only achievable with extensive manual efforts and very large design teams – leading to lower IC power consumption, reduced manufacturing costs and shorter time-to-market.
“We are very impressed with Nangate’s Library Creator tool suite,” said Peter Zdebel, ON Semiconductor chief technology officer (CTO) and senior vice president of Corporate Research and Development. “The tool suite has helped ON Semiconductor increase the efficiency of our foundation IP development both in terms of building and validating high quality digital cell libraries more quickly – and significantly reducing the cost of doing so.”
“ON Semiconductor is known for operating a set of world-class design and manufacturing centers worldwide,” said Jens Andersen, vice president of Worldwide Sales at Nangate. “We are pleased to be able to support ON Semiconductor’s continued improvement of their IP development productivity and cost base as well as the ability to provide the highest quality IP in a timely manner to their many product design teams.”
