2nTP antifuse technology offers the security and reliability advantages of OTP memory and the multi-time programmability of MTP memory.
Hermitage, PA. – April 7, 2010 – Novocell, a one-time programmable (OTP) memory provider, known as a leader in reliable antifuse technology, today announced the release of 2nTP; the industry’s first multi-time write antifuse technology. 2nTP allows 2n times programming, supporting 2, 4, or 8 times write. For the same number of writes 60% area savings can be achieved versus using multiple cascaded OTP blocks for the same number of writes. 2nTP offers a solution for customers looking for the security of OTP with the functionality of MTP.
“Novocell is pleased to offer the industry another alternative in the antifuse, one-time programmable memory space. 2nTP truly gives the chip architect more options and flexibility in design, test, and configuration. Gone are the restrictions surrounding antifuse technology,” said Steven Warner, President, Novocell Semiconductor.
About 2nTP Technology:
2nTP is built on Novocell’s proven NovoBlox technology. NovoBlox, recognized as one of the leading OTP antifuse cells for its reliability, zero tail bit failures, and 30+ year data retention, is patented and silicon-proven at major foundries. 2nTP Technology is currently available in 2 or 4 times write architectures in ROM array sizes from 64 bits to 8Kbits. The eight times write architectures will be available 4Q2010.
