We all know Apple is a trendsetter - How many PMPs (personal media players) have emerged from consumer electronics makers since the launch or the iPod? - but some unexpected companies are now looking to follow in its footsteps.
Larry Ellison, CEO of software giant Oracle, wants to be more like Steve Jobs, according to reports from Oracle’s annual meeting in San Francisco yesterday. And to do that Ellison said the company will acquire chip design companies as it builds its IP portfolio and takes a greater stake in end-product technology.
