EVE and Spirent to Integrate ZeBu SoC Emulation System With Spirent Ethernet Test Solutions
New Transaction-Based Verification Solution Targets Ethernet SoC Designs
SAN JOSE, CA-- June 4, 2012 - EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, today announced they have joined forces with Spirent Communications, the leader in testing Ethernet and wireless networks, devices and services, to integrate EVE's ZeBu system-on-chip (SoC) hardware-assisted verification platform with Spirent's Ethernet test solutions.
Combining solutions from the leading Ethernet test company and the leading accelerated, transaction-based SoC emulation company will provide more accurate and faster verification for Ethernet SoCs.
The joint solution will target the verification of Ethernet SoCs for routers, switches and controllers, and also ASICs within consumer and other systems with one or more Ethernet ports. Initial integration will be between Spirent TestCenter Virtual and ZeBu's e-zTest Ethernet virtual development platforms. Spirent TestCenter Virtual, a software test solution designed especially for virtualized networks and cloud computing environments, generates realistic traffic to test the ports of Ethernet SoCs driven through ZeBu e-zTest Ethernet products to devices under test (DUT) in the reconfigurable ZeBu emulation system. The packets are then returned to Spirent TestCenter Virtual for protocol compliance analysis and evaluation.
As the preferred provider of high-scale, high-density converged solutions for Ethernet testing, Spirent's test solutions are used for load-stress and functional testing of Ethernet equipment and network infrastructure. EVE's ZeBu emulation systems provide fast SoC verification, typically achieving speeds of five to 15 MHz with ZeBu-Blade2 and ZeBu-Server systems. With Smart Debug, ZeBu provides 100% accessibility into DUT and a hierarchical debug methodology to quickly find problems.
"Spirent's innovative approach to testing matches our mission to offer innovative, cost-effective hardware assisted verification," remarks Luc Burgun, EVE's president and chief executive officer (CEO). "The integration of ZeBu with Spirent's software-based virtual testers and cost-effective class of Ethernet test equipment will provide shorter development cycles for a host of companies."
"The cooperative relationship with EVE underscores Spirent's commitment to delivering comprehensive test solutions to chip design teams," adds Dave Sheaffer, director of Strategic Alliances at Spirent. "The integration and interoperability between the two solutions enables customers to better assess the performance, availability, security and scalability of their Ethernet network elements earlier in the design cycle."
EVE will offer demonstrations of the product integration in Booth #1926 at the 49th Design Automation Conference (DAC) June 4-6 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
