eSilicon Korea Now Open for Business
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — September 20, 2012 — eSilicon Corporation, the largest independent semiconductor design and manufacturing services provider, today announced the grand opening of eSilicon Korea, Ltd. in Seoul, Korea. This new location will provide regional sales and global design services.
“Our core ASIC business began with designing and manufacturing complex SoCs for networking applications. Over the years, we have expanded our design capabilities to include custom ICs for consumer products. Korea is a very exciting place for eSilicon as many global players in these markets are headquartered here,” said Jack Harding, president and CEO of eSilicon.
“In order to support our customers in current and future projects, it was clear that eSilicon needed to be in Korea,” Harding continued. “We have appointed Alice Byun to head our Korea operation and we are delighted to have her take on this leadership role. In addition to her extensive experience with technology companies, she has a deep understanding of the Asia-Pacific market as well as custom IC design and the power of custom IP.”
“I am very excited to be part of building up eSilicon Korea. We are off to a good start with significant engagements with tier-one Korean customers,” said Alice Byun, corporate vice president and general manager, eSilicon Korea. “One reason we won this business was that our custom IP enabled us to address customers’ high performance targets. In addition, our philosophy of ‘global reach, local support’ makes eSilicon the right partner for companies who provide solutions worldwide.”
The Korea design center adds a wealth of design expertise to eSilicon’s well-established global design team.
