Scalable UHD JPEG Encoder − Ultra-High Throughput, 8/10/12-bit per component and CBR video encoding
Autotalks achieves market leading vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) security powered by Athena's high performance security technology
Ultra fast latency and high throughput deliver market leading capabilities
Kfar Netter, Israel -- July 8, 2013 -- Autotalks today announced details of the security processing performance of their CRATON (ATK4100) V2X communication processor, the world’s most advanced vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications processor. To satisfy the critical security demands of its V2X communications architecture, Autotalks relies on Athena’s TeraFire® security microprocessors to seamlessly authenticate and process every incoming packet received by a vehicle in less than a millisecond.
CRATON’s security performance will be demonstrated in the upcoming V2V & V2I USA 2013 conference, 9-10 July 2013, Hotel Baronette, Novi, MI, USA.
The effective deployment of V2X systems depends on secure communication to protect the safety and privacy of users. Malicious intrusions into V2X systems could have serious consequences. With thousands of incoming messages arriving every second, each message must be authenticated before its information can be trusted. CRATON is the only solution that has both the capacity and performance to process every packet received -never missing any critical safety information. Alternative solutions in the market are forced to perform a complex vehicle selection algorithm instead. CRATON’s performance eliminates the need for this costly algorithm, accelerating time-to-market and simplifying software development and integration.
“Athena is clearly the leader in high performance security. When we approached Athena with our V2X security requirements, we realized their TeraFire cores were the ideal solution,” said Amos Freund, Vice President of R&D at Autotalks. “CRATON’s security integration significantly reduces overall solution cost and footprint. The integration enables flexible and efficient V2X architectures.”
Autotalks presents a complete offering with its state-of-the-art CRATON (ATK4100) V2X communication processor and PLUTON (ATK3100) V2X RFtransceiver. The PANGAEA3 development platform and reference design is also available for software development and field testing. With production devices and development kits available now, Autotalks has the only viable V2X solution ready for series-production in car models from 2015 on.
“Autotalks is the world’s leader in V2X communication processors. We knew that security was a critical requirement in providing reliable V2X solutions and that Autotalks had to have the fastest security solution possible,” says Jon Mellott, CTO at Athena. “Our TeraFire 5200 series integrates both horsepower and programmable flexibility in a small footprint core. With a full instruction set tailored to cryptographic security, the 5200 can perform standalone execution of the complex algorithms required for V2X -ECDSA verify and ECIES.”
For over 25 years, Athena’s leading-edge security and signal processing intellectual property (IP) cores have set the standard in overall performance, efficiency, and silicon area. Today, Athena offers a broad portfolio of solutions, from ciphers to security microprocessors, and from transforms to high performance FFT arrays.
